Cyclones

Cyclones are devices that allow the separation of granulated products from the fluid that transports them, using centrifugal force.

They are normally used as a pre-separator and inserted in filtration systems before the main filter unit (bag filter, cartridge filter, etc.), in order to carry out a pre-separation of larger granulometry or separators of flame-resistant particles.

Its efficiency increases with the particle diameter and density; the speed of the gases; the length of the cone and the outlet diameter and decreases depending on the viscosity of the gas and the diameter of the cyclone body. A range ranging from 3,000 to 60,000 Am3 / h is available.

Decantador

The decanters are equipment designed to promote the extinction of incandescent particles (labyrinth model), in order to prevent the risk of fire in filtration units.

These equipment’s also allow pre-separation of particles of greater granulometry and heavier, as well as reducing the temperature of the gases, in case of need, but may not replace the traditional cyclones.

These modules are recommended in applications, upstream of filtration units, namely in boiler circuits, smelting furnaces, among others, since in these applications, the presence of incandescent particles is sometimes verified.

The design and development of these units depends on the technical assumptions of each project, and SETIMEP, Lda commits to finding the most efficient solution, maintaining the commitment of the energy efficiency of the installation with fire protection.
